half of my undergrad career is over. omg! how did thaaat happen? anywhoo, time for finals [only three left!] and in two weeks i'm headed off for shanghai.

it's been a relatively exciting semester- i've learned how to play tennis! without pegging a random person on the adjacent court! In addition to mastering the art of foosball, i've also realized i'm an expert snow-ball fighter as well as a heck of a fine omelet maker.

thanks to the wonderful inspiration around me, i have also perfected my skills in graphic designing... hooray! hence the updated look i created on phootoe-shoppe. at the spring fling carnival not too long ago, twinkie & i spotted the most romantic thing in the world. A couple was riding on the summit of a ferris wheel, the sun was setting, the breeze was blowing, and everything was absolutely perfect. above i present a moment captured in time.

 The story of a remarkable friendship

When a group of hippos were swept out to sea by the Asian tsunami waves that battered the Kenyan coast, one little fellow was separated from his family. Owen, a one-year-old hippo, was found by local fisherman on the Kenyan coast and transported to a nearby wildlife park where he found an unusual companion.

Owen sought refuge with a 120-year-old male tortoise named Mzee. Surprisingly, they immediately began bonding, which is highly uncommon for two entirely different species. Occasionally, when he thinks nobody is watching, Owen will plant a sloppy lick across Mzee’s cheek. Today, best of friends, Owen and Mzee spend time together sleeping, eating, roaming, and wallowing in mud ponds.

it’s interesting how stories like these cause us to reflect on simple lessons about friendship and common bonds. in the scheme of all things, what differences you may have with others... big or small... really doesn’t matter all that much. because in the long run, it’s the smiles and memories shared that truly make a difference... right? right.

Colin makes one heck of a pretty girl. Instead of being cruel to him and depriving this… compromising photo of a caption, I suppose I shall explain. In the above, he’s doing a mulan impersonation. For all you @ my partay, I’m sure you remember his yodeling to “reflections” --- What can I say? It was beautiful.
